Corvallis Garbage Fest (2022)

Organized in part by Chris Durnin of Corvallis Experiments in Noise, Garbage Fest is a touring exhibition based on found and discarded objects that includes visual, sonic, and performing arts as well as the presence of regional organizations (such as Community Power Pods PDX, who provided all electricity from recycled car batteries), activists, and mutual aid groups like the Corvallis Really Really Free Market. By way of its material focus alone, Garbage Fest seeks to be as inclusive as possible, which allowed a wide variety of artists to engage with these materials in different ways.

For this iteration of Garbage Fest, I collaborated with artist and educator Johnny Beaver on a number of multidisciplinary "objects" as part of a larger Dada-ish (see: not Dada-esque) installation dedicated to our collective exploration of improvisational and haphazard art-making. These works included collecting, conceptual art, painting, sculpture, electronic installation and sound design, video, and interactive display created from found, consumed, grown, and manufactured materials and objects.
